Privacy Policy
At ChromaChat, we take your privacy and data security seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and process your information when you access or use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
As an anonymous chat platform, we do not require you to create an account, register, or provide your email address. However, to provide and secure our service, we collect:
- IP Address & Geolocation data: Used to verify your country and route connection streams to appropriate regional matchmaking pools.
- Device Identifiers & Technical logs: Information about your browser type, device model, operating system, and connection logs to block bots and banned abusers.
- Cookie identifiers: Temporary cookies to store your selected preference tags and virtual Gem balances on your local browser.
2. Video & Audio Streams Processing
Your video and audio communication streams are transmitted in real-time, peer-to-peer (P2P) directly between you and your match whenever possible. ChromaChat **does not record or store your live audio or video streams** on our servers. Video canvas rendering and AR filters are processed locally on your client browser.
3. Automated Moderation & Data Safety
To keep ChromaChat safe, we employ automated AI monitoring software that scans streams for violations (e.g. adult content, nudity, or graphic violence). If a violation is flagged, metadata and temporary screenshots of the violating frame may be sent to our moderation review server to apply IP-level bans.
4. Virtual Purchases Logs
All virtual package transactions and Gem checkout balances are stored locally in your browser storage or indexed via temporary session keys. We do not store or process real financial credit card information on our servers; mock billing is processed entirely within the client application container.
5. Your Rights & Data Choices
Since we do not store names, email addresses, or user accounts, we cannot look up your data upon request. You can wipe all local logs and clear your cookie states instantly by clicking "Clear Website Data" in your browser settings, which will reset your virtual wallet and matching tag history.
6. Contact Us
For questions or feedback regarding our privacy practices, please contact our support department via the Support Hub or file a report through our Report Abuse form.
